IGBT Inverter welder
New welding machines, those now called IGBT Inverter Welders feature a different type of transistor that operates at the welder’s core.
IGBT or Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors can be manufactured to operate at any current as opposed to MOSFET types that are limited to 20/30 amps. As a result IGBT transistors do not need to be connected in parallel which can increase reliability dramatically.
IGBT welding machines are the new favourite amongst Tig Welders although these days there is not much difference in reliability between IGBT inverter welding machines and MOSFET welders. So now you know whats IGBT on IGBT inverter welding machines.
